July 2020 Covid 19

Good To Go Certificate

We, Gavin and Nicola, are looking forward to reopening our hostel following it’s temporary closure, due to Covid 19 in March 2020.

Inevitably the hostel will be run differently. We will be reducing the number of beds in use ,with most rooms sleeping two and a maximum of two rooms sleeping four at any time. When the hostel is not booked for exclusive use ,each room will have the use of one WC/shower. For the first time we are introducing a two night minimum stay, to help us keep on top of a more rigorous cleaning regime. Our prices have been increased. We will not be asking for deposits for bookings up until the end of September 2020 ,but will ask for full payment to be paid by bank transfer or card, 7 days before arrival.

Due to the nature of  hostels with their shared social spaces, social distancing will present a significant challenge. We will send an email to all those making a booking ,explaining the measures that we are putting in place to try to minimise the risk of spreading Covid 19 ,should one of our guests have the virus and not know, or develops symptoms within a few days of leaving us. Over the next few months  we will not be showing guests around the hostel when they check in, and will not be as visibly present as we usually are. Guests will be asked to spend limited time in the kitchen and sitting room ,with a maximum number in each at any one time. We will be reliant on guests observing the guidelines set out by us in our email and notices around the hostel. As always, the hostel runs well when everyone shows consideration and respect to their fellow guests.
